Hi all,
Slight problem with backing up whilst using the AT command.

If I run the batch file manually to run the backup, the backup completes fine.

When the AT command is used, the batch file is called and starts to run, however the backup fails stating that I have insufficient permissions.

Have installed SP6a and the additional hotfix as advised by Microsoft. This does not seem to resolve the problem.

AT command batch file worked fine until backup was reviewed and drive letters changed!

Any ideas????

Thanks, Pinhead.

Check to see what context the scheduler service is running under - normally this would be under the System context but if this has been changed, then whatever account it now runs under needs appropriate privileges (i.e. needs to be a member of Backup Operators or Administrators).

When you run the backup manually, you're running it under the context of the locally logged on user. So you could try changing the Scheduler service to log on with these credentials and see how that goes. It sounds to me as if Scheduler's not running under the System context, or if it is, then then are some directories/files somewhere on the server where System does not have Full Control permissions.

Mr F Gibbon is completely right but here's another possible option too. If you install IE 5 or above on the machine it should upgrade the Task Scheduler. This provides a GUI that allows you to specify which user account to use for each scheduled task so you could create a special account to do your backups. You should still be able to use AT as normal too.

Not everyone likes the task scheduler so I suggest you try it out on a non-essential machine first.

Thanks. All good now.

Very helpful.

Hopefully I can help in the future :)
