NT backup on Window 2003 SBS SP1 freezes the system

m working with a 2003 SBS sp1. We have connect a DTL drive DLT-V4. When we do double click on NTbackup the system freeze and we have to press the power button. We get no error messages.

Also the system freezes when we try do see the properties of the tape through the device manager. We thought that it was the driver of the tape so we install the newer driverb ut we have the same results.
The strange is that is we use the DLTsage software that is coming with the diver it "sees" the drive with no problem.

Do you have any suggestions ??

Check RSM and make sure it is running.

RMS in not running ,and if i try to start the service the system freezes too

OK, start with that for your troubleshooting. Check your event logs for some clues about what is wrong with RSM.
