NT Authority\System Shutdown 1

When I'm browsing the internet using IE6 on my XP laptop, I've started to get a message saying:
Shutdown initiated by NT Authority/System.
Then after 30 seconds my whole laptop shuts down.
All my settings for my ISP and dial up connection seem ok.
Any ideas.
