We have a patchlink service (for Windows/Office updates) that runs as the SYSTEM account in order to provide elevated rights for normal users to install patches.
The problem we're having is that the SYSTEM account is not assuming the user's token for network credentials, and thus, won't connect to any network shares.
Ultimately, I'm trying to redirect Office install source paths to a network location (made the mistake of installing Office from the CD on the image) but the machines are getting denied access to the share (which EVERYONE has read/execute access to.) When prompted for the Office installation source, you can only browse the local drives... no network maps are displayed and browsing through the "entire network" to the share just leads to "Access Denied".
Has anyone encountered this before?
