We have NT40 boxes as our primary and secondary external DNS. I want a Win2K box to be the secondary DNS. (Because the secondary was newver really setup as DNS). I've built the Win2k box and installed DNS.

How can I setup the Win2K DNS? Copy every entry from the NT box manually?

I already tried copying all files from the NT...DNS folder to the Win2K folder, but no worky: Win2K DNS still shows up as blank.

TIA

What I would do is in DNS Manager on your NT 4 box, right click on all the domains you want the 2K server to be a secondary for and choose properties. Then click notify, and add the IP address of the 2K server in the notify list of each domain. That will force NT to update the 2K secondary.

When you set up the zones on 2K, make sure you say the server is a secondary and you are all set.

Thanks. I'll give it a try tomorrow.
