NT 4.0 laptop failes to obtain a lease for NIC from router

Hi,
I have Dell laptop with Windows NT 4.0.
I connected it to Linksys BEFSR41 router using NetGear FA511 Cardbus adapter.
But the machine does not see the network.
I have 3 other PCs connected to the router and they see it fine.
Error message in event log is "DHCP failed to obtain a lease for the card ...: The semaphore timeout period has expired.

Any help would be appreciated
