I recently installed a new server running Win2K on our network. We have multiple NT 4.0 workstations and one Win2K workstation. I have a simple Access database with no internal security set up on a share using basic share permissions. I have given several users WRITE access and everyone else READ access. I have set no security permissions either in the database or NT native. My problem is as follows: It seems that when the Windows 2000 workstation logs on first and opens the database (this particular user has read only), when I log in to the NT 4 workstation that has WRITE access I get a message saying the database is READ ONLY. If I log off the Windows 2000 user and then log off and back on at the NT 4.0 workstation I get the WRITE access that this user is supposed to have. If I change the share permissions to everyone full, the problem disappears but everyone has write access which I don't want. Any help would be appreciated. We are using Access 2000.
