NT 4.0 Backup Exe 7.0 1

HI Everyone

Can someone help me with this problem. I have no clue as to why Backup jobs keeps failing. It started two weeks...and has been happening everyday since then. First i thought it was cuz i was tring to Backup too much staff but that is not the case. It keeps failing...and there is no reason. STATUS=FAILED. With out any explantion.

Thank you very much in advance. If you at least can point me to the Right direction that will helpful also.

This error is why the backup fails. It isn't able to backup this directory.

Logged in as the same account that backs up (check BE services if unsure), take ownership of the developers directory and tick the box for all sub directories.

This should cure the problem.

I was having a problem very similar to this. If you have an HP server I can tell you exactly whats wrong. HP has a specific version of SCSI driver you have to use. I downloaded driver and loaded it and my problem went away.

I have encountered this problem with Backup Exec V7 and Exchange 5.5

1. The drive needs cleaning (always try the simnple answers first);

2. The drive is faulty (I have encountered this one even though the HW ususally reports this) check the event logs;

3. Although my backup machine (I use a separate system to backup the server) is pretty reliable I occasionally need to reboot it.
