Is there a way to change the settings to make the partition(s) shareable for clustering? I wanted to cluster 2 NetWare 6, SP3 servers. I read that the partitions had to be shareable.

If I upgrade to NetWare 6.5 will the partitions still be marked as not shareable for clustering?

the storeage used must be shared
ie on a san or through iscsi
clustering services must be installed prior to creating the partitions , pools and volumes
it will create an sbd partition on the shared storage and then you are in business - you can also mirror this sbd but not essential

So I would be better off to completely reinstall with NetWare 6.5? I am planning to upgrade anyway. Thanks for the help!

probably easier but depends on setup.

i would recommend the appnote from last month about 2 node iscsi cluster and oct 2003 re clustering dhcp , dns etc

If you have spare disk capacity on the SAN install clustering and create the SBD. (Only about 10-50Mb)

When you have this the SAN box will be set for clustering. You may need to update the existing pools etc on the SAN.

You can only set it for sharing with Cluster loaded(I think)
