Has anyone seen this or know what may be causing this error message in the daemon.log?

nsrexecd: SYSTEM error: There is already a machine using the name: "pnli.xxx.gov". Either choose a different name for your machine, or delete the "NSR peer information" entry for "pnli.xxx.gov" on host: "pnlbk.xxx.gov

Please tell us which Networker version do you use?
Check name resolution ping\nslookup (DNS error?)
Check aliases for this client (Edit client \ Preferences)

Hi,

sounds like you use networker 7.3.X and strong authentication. Somehow the local credentials seem to have changed on the client. Any idea of how or why that would have happened???

To come around that you can delete the client name (pnli.xxx.gov) under pnlbk.xxx.gov in Local Host at NetWorker Management Console. If you delete it, it will be recreated next backup or next time when communication between client and server is performed. You should be good to go after that.
