We recently replaced a Nortel Norstar at a large house with a Asterisk based system which the customer hated. We have then since replaced it with a New Panasonic NS700. Both the Asterisk and Panasonic are experiencing Phantom rings on the loop start lines. The customer has three rural analog bell lines (Trunks 1-3) and a Gate Phone (Trunk 4). The phone will ring and no one will be on the line. We believed it to be bell lines as they are always humming and crackling or just plain dead. We have bell out there a few times a month to repair the lines to the demarcation point. The customer is currently removing the RJ45 from the phone system every night so they don't get disturbed by the phone.
Is there any way to adjust the CO Loop Start Lines settings to prevent these problems from occurring. I thought a saw a post on another site about a ring detect settings. Does anyone have any experience with this type of problem.
Thanks
Ryan
