I am trying to start the client for Linux to a Novell network. I have downloaded the file and installed it. I still do not get a graphical log-in screen. I am very new at this and would appreciate some help. Thanks

Have you tried 'startx' ? d3funct

The software required `Windows 95 or better', so I installed Linux.

There is a difference between a GUI and a graphical login.
to start the X GUI: type startx
to start the Display Manager: type init 5

Just because it is a linux client it doesn't necessarily follow that you will get a graphical login. Many clients operate only on a CLI. Look closely at the client spec to see exactly what is being offered. Ian

"IF" is not a word it's a way of life

I have never seen a gui novell login for linux. You have to use ncpmount and ncpumount to mount and unmount file. Read the ncpmount man page, it is not that hard to do.
