Hi, I have found the label covers or desi covers thanks to your help now i need to print labels or desi strips. does anyone know of any programs or have any sugestions as to where i can get something to print labels ? Thanks once again folks

Hi Jake,

has a free program you can download that will allow you to print on blank desi's.

I will print out a completed desi on a blank sheet of paper, line up and tape a blank desi to the printed text, send the same paper back through my printer and voila! a prefectly printed desi! [thumbsup2]

If you're talking about Magix or MLX sets, I use an Excel spreadsheet to print out 8 MLX or 6 Magix 4412/24's at a time. Print them out on plain paper, and cut with a "rotary" paper cutter.

I use PowerPoint to produce labels for the ATL and MLX sets. (I haven't done them yet for Magix.) Power Point is nicer than Excel because it allows precisions alignment and easy mixing of fonts. Sometimes I use a combination of colors and fonts on an individual button, such as large-black type for the "main" label and smaller-blue type for additional information.

Even trimming with scissors or a 15x15 table-top trimmer does fine; when the paper is under the plastic cover, users can't really tell what the paper quality is.

TouchToneTommy's suggestion is a great one for MLX or Magix telephone sets. You can use regular white paper, cut it to size after printing and make up a batch of homemade desi's. [thumbsup2]

With Partner telephone sets, you print out on a piece of paper, line up and tape the blank desi to the paper and sent it back through. It works quite nicely. [smile]

I haven't used the PowerPoint method yet. I'll have to give it a try and see how it goes.

There is an even easier way though. If you have winSPM then you can go to the "Program" page for a phone, and, do a "File" "Print" and it will print out a label on printer paper, with nice little dotted lines for you to cut on. I like it

Sure...go ahead and brag about buying the license for the label maker. Why do you insist on doing things the easy way by spending more money? ;)

Wha, there is a license? I never purchased a license! From the day I got the software, it just printed out the label when I clicked "Print" when I was on the programming page for that phone. Hmm, oh dear, I wonder if the Avaya people are gonna come knockin on my door one day to haul me off?! And then they are gonna find out that I know the password to moniter, and, oh dear, Im doomed!

Your just chock full of information merlinman, how do you do it? You always go that extra step..
BAM!! you get a star!

papagigo1,

"So few hats, so many rabbits!!!

Thanx for your kind words.

Only trouble is, no one bought it!

I guess things like that are of no value.

MM,
They are to me! These could make my job much easier, and for short money. I'm trying to contact the seller through Ebay..
