Novell Small Business Suite 5.1

Greetings

I'm fairly new to the world of Novell and was wondering if anyone could tell me if Novell Small Business Suite 5.1 and Netware 5.1 are the same thing? I have done some digging on Novell's support site and can't find anything conclusive. I have to update a server with Novell Small Business Suite 5.1 sp2 and need to know if Netware 5.1 sp 5 will work.

Well they are not quite the same thing, but the NetWare that is included in SBS 5.1 is the same base NetWare as the stand-alone NetWare 5.1 product. The major difference between the 2 is in licensing.

You can safely update your existing SBS 5.1 servers using NW51SP5. Note that the support pack only patches NetWare and not the other products (like GW, BM, ZFD, etc...)
