Novell Netware 3.1 cant find server

The client can't find server or tree. The server and tree indicated are correct. I've checked the cable, it's fine. I've tried patches but it still doesnt help.

I am able to connect to the internet via proxy, does this mean that the Ethernet card is okay?

What else should I do?

Since you can connect to proxy, I'll assume your TCP/IP is fine, you do have IPX loaded to talk to the NetWare correct? Michael A. Dontato MCNE, MCSE, CCA

I had a problem where I could see the server but could not log on and gave me the "unable to log on etc" message and it turned out to be that we had reached the limit of our server connection licenses. Check the amount of connections allowed in monitor and the number connected.Hope this helps.
