Novell 5 login, mapping to W2K server thru Nt domain issues.

3 domains running on network.
one novell, one NT, one w2k...
users log into Novell, then into NT...W2K domain is to replace NT domain and eventually Novell domain.

Now....is it possible to log into Novell & NT as usual but map certain drives across to the W2K domain ?
have used login script with following :

#NET USE Q: \\<ServerName>\<Volume>\<Sub-dirs>
now i understand the microsoft login has to preceed the novell login for this to work but it still does not, error message is :

Error 50: You attempted an operation that cannot be performed from your computer or that is not supported on the specified server. Make sure you are using the correct server for the command or task that you want to perform.

The W2K server has the correct permissions for myself from the NT domain and the trust relationship is up and running as i can browse the W2K network fine...

so....

does anyone know how to map a drive from logon to a W2K server which is on a different domain from the NT domain after logging into the Novell 5 server (NOTE:trust relationships working in both directions i.e NT<---->W2K).

Are you using the NET USE command to map to a share on the W2k server? Are you using Dfs and AD on the W2k server

yes...
if u see above, i am using the net use command in the novell login script.
am using AD on W2K...
share has been setup on W2K server with correct permissions for me to get to it, yet does not map...

Instead of mapping to a share name, try mapping to the physical location i.e.

NET USE Q: \\SERVERNAME\C$\DIR\DIRECTORY

Is this strictly a login script issue? Can you map it manually from Windows?

i have managed to get this done but in a rather long winded way...
setup shares on the W2K server, assigned permissions for the shares as well as permissions for the folders using W2K security management, then i am able to map drives ok.
If i remove either the shares or the permissions on folders, then mapping does not occur...
although it works, it does not actually work via the login script...
