Notification sent twice after backup

This is just a minor inconvenience but two of the ten servers send their email notification twice when finished. They send it whether they are successful or failed. I don't see any difference between their setup and the other eight. Anyone else run across this?

Don't know how useful this is, but I seem to recall awhile back when I was running a job manually it had a space to enter an email address if I wanted to be notified. I did so, after the manual job was finished I recieved two notifications instead of the usual one. I think it may be because Backup Exec was already set to send notifications for everything, and then I had specified an email address for notification for that particular job.

Maybe check to see if you have email notification set up in two places? Check the job properties and see if there is a place to set notification in addition to Backup Exec's Notification area. Good luck!

It is possible to configure notification under BOTH the individual job properties, AND the alerts categories. This could cause the described "double notifications" (e.g. selecting Success notification will cause you to be notified of every successful job, including Exports etc, in addition to any specific Job notification).

YES!

I had this same problem. You can configure notifications in three places:

1) Alert Categories
2) Through the Notification tab in the properties of the job (under the blue Job Setup tab)
3) Through the Selection List Notification tab in the properties of the job (also under the blue Job Setup tab)
