I need some help !!! I have a computer running SCO Unixware 2.1.3 and was working ok, but it was turned off badly, and now when the Operating System is up, now I have a message error that says "NOTICE: bad dir ino=xxxx..." this is an inode problem, and if you try to move or rename that file or directory, you can do it, but the error message still appears. I just want to get rid of it, but I don't know how, I've been searching and I've couldn't find anything. I think that should exist some tip, or trick. The file system is vxfs. In other Unix Operating Systems exist commands or tip that you can follow to resolve this problem, but in Unixware... HOW ?

Thanks in advance.

Take a backup of that file or directory, then remove it from the file system and restore it from the backed up device to the same location.

I happened to face similar problem earlier and got it resolved this way..

Hope it works for u as well!

Thanks Butterfly123,

That's the way I usually do it, generally I move (rename) that file or directory, because you can't delete it, it's impossible remove the files or directories that have an inode corrupted (UnixWare 2.1.3). My question goes deeper, How can I do to REMOVE an inode corrupted in Unixware 2.1.3 ?

Anything else, other ideas ?
