Hi All, We are using Livelink 9.5, and in one of the projects, none of the files/folders are visible. But when i check in the database there are around 10 files. Also when i navigate into the folders, i am unable to delete any of the files/folders. No error message, after deleting, the file just reappears. I can delete the files from the database though. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

usually something that the GUI exhibits/does not exhibit in livelink happens for a reason.Typically one puts extended logging in opentext.ini and by doing this debug=2 in options wantlogs=true .When you re-start and re-attempt it typically you will see some module's output saying that the action is not possible because it is violating some business rule.People who are inexperienced in livelink will usually open a support ticket with ot and they will guide them through.
However if you touch the livelink database without a supported api/tool then you will lose standard support and will have to pay OT or some other person to fix the irregularities in the livelink database.When the livelink database is manipulated by SQL then many relations will not fire hence the whole software will become shaky and full of errors .

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

So what you are trying to say is that, if i put debug=2 and wantlog and perform the same action, il get the error message as to exactly why it is happening?

You will get more information that can be used to diagnose the cause of your issue, it could be that there is a problem with that data, or that your files are hidden etc.

Hi greg,

No the files are not hidden, they are listed. It is wierd because even when i add a new document to this particular project - it is visible only in the database and not in the project. but if i put the objectid directly into the URL i am able to open the file/folder. Right now i am having a look at the logs.

Hi All,

Please find the ini file -
Debug=2
Port=2099
Server=cogdaap9
Logpath=.\logsDocNewTimeInDays=2
DocModTimeInDays=7
MailtoAddressSeparator=;
NewsDftExpiration=2
MaxUsersToListPerPage=30
MaxListingOnGroupExpn=100
MaxUsersInGroup=1000
AdminMailAddress=Livelink.admin@inbev.com
ExplorerServerName=
integrity=TRUE
ScheduleHandlerClearInterval=30
SearchResultsCacheExpiration=30
MessageClearInterval=30
PauseSleep=2000
htmlImagePrefix=/Livelinksupport/
OTHOME=C:\OPENTEXTInstallAdminPort=5858
NTSERVICENAME=Livelink
NTPATH=C:\OPENTEXT\filters
[options]
errorMessageWantDebugInfo=FALSE
categoryNumToUpgrade=5
wantHTMLView=TRUE
wantIcons=TRUE
maxRightsString=250
wantByteServing=FALSE
wantDistributedSupport=FALSE
wantLogs=TRUE

So i will be able to find it in logs- any idea with what name.

Sorry i am kind of new to this.

Thank you for your help

after you re-start your thread one will say thread1.out upto 5 so you never know which thread has what so to simplify that find the llserver section and change the min/max of threads to 1.Obviously after making a backup of the ini.

[llserver]
id=3
path=.\bin\llserver2.dll
min=5 //change that to 1
max=5 //change that to 1

When you re-start repeat your action and then you will have only 1 thread1.out .If you see trace<,,,,,,,>.out when you are performing anything then that means there are unhandled exceptions in code.

Note that if this instance is being debugged with users/search etc hitting the logs will be pretty unwieldy to understand starting users will only understand if the module developer involved good debug messages .
So please be prepared to work thru OT but the more info you can give them will speed up the case
