I've just built an Athlon 1000mhz system on a jetway 663ASPro Mobo. Everything worked on first boot, went through POST screen and tried booting from Hard Disk. Because the H/D hadn't been prepared the system halted - I turned it off. When I eventually found a boot disk, I started the PC again and everything went fine until after it had loaded the CD-Rom driver from Config.sys - it just hung. I turned it off and now when I switch on nothing, no beeps, no video, nothing. I have a 300W PSU.

Can anyone help me?

sounds weird - i'll give you 50p and a baloon on a stick for it :)

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply.

Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

Can you get another CPU (that you know is good) - or try your CPU in another MB (that you know is good) to try and do a little troubleshooting? If you have tried them than it possible that one or the other or both is Dead - it just comes down to a little trouble shooting on your part!

Have you turned on the power switch located on the PS unit itself and have plugged it in? Forgive the facetious remark, but often the obvious can never be seen or noticed.

If you hear the hard drive going through its built-in diagnostics, then the PS maybe OK. If other components such as the CD and floppy also go through their internal diagnostics then that adds further confidence in the PS.

If none of this occurs, then your PS has shutdown (blown a fuse, circuit breaker) or outright died.

If you get No POST beep(s) then it appears you may have lost your CPU, RAM or BIOS. Re-seat the CPU and RAM, reconnect the drives, double check connections and try again.

Warning about borrowing friend's CPU --- IFF (If and only if) the MB fried your CPU, why should your friend's CPU be exempt? Verify voltage settings for CPU are ok.

Good luck & happy hunting.
