Need some general advice on networking my solaris box ie. changing ip address, subnet mask, default gateway, etc

Hi,

If u have already added N/W card to u'r system then u can
configure it by modifying the following files:
/etc/hosts (contains IP address & hostname)

/etc/hostname.<interface> (contains hostname entry)
/etc/defaultrouter (Ip address of default router)
/etc/netmasks (contains N/W no. and netmask entry)
/etc/resolv.conf (Domain name Server entry IP address)
/etc/defaultdomain (contains domain name entry)

U can also use ifconfig command to configure the N/W card

and don't forget your /etc/hosts file if you are changing your ip address.. ;)

Pete
