Hey all,
I am using ARCserve 2000 build 1100 (i think, its sp4) and have recently been getting message to load a blank media after about 50% of the job has completed. Backups are running fine but how do i get it to autoload the tapes so i dont have to manually add the next blank media to the scratch set??
thanks for any info!

Jason

I assume you are using a changer. Make sure that there is blank media in the device group that the job is running in. If you are not sure if the mdia is blank, perform a quick erase plus on it. If there is blank media in the group, there may be a database problem. The location of blank media I believe may also be stored in the registry and coruption of the key can be a problem. I am not sure if CA has a doc on their support site that states it is okay to delete the tape engine key and let it get recreated on its own. Check their site before trying anything like that.

Thanks for the response!
The media has already been written too (several times over) so maybe this is the issue. The only question i have is: would this effect the backup job when only spanning to two tapes? until recently, the job was able to complete using only 1 tape.. there has been an increase in files to be backed up (we've maxed out one tape and require two to finish the job). the auto-change feature worked okay before; after the job completed, it would automatically pick up the next tape to write to.

thanks
