Not In List

I have a combo box which has the Limit to List property set to Yes. I have set a msgbox of my own to appear when the item entered is not in the list, but I want to get rid of the access message that appears after my msgbox. Can someone please tell me how? I have done this several times before but not for ages and it is driving me mad.
