Not getting the full capacity from tapes

We're using ARCserveIT 6.6 w/HP SureStore DAT 24x6 tape library. We have 24gb tape cartridge. When the tape reach 12,000,000 is beeps for a new media and says the tape is full. Can someone tell me how to get 24gb of data on tape? Thanks!

Make sure the H/W compression is enabled ....

Or use S/W compression in the backup options. DatabaseBaba...

It is more recommendable to use the SW compression, also, the compression depends on the data and the size of the files that you're backing up.
