Can anyone tell me how to get over this problem. When I try to empty my deleted file a message comes up "Outlook Express could not open this file ,not enough disk space"
Double click my computer, right click my computer and choose properties on each hard drive and list back here the drives and free space, and the operating system your pc runs.
If there is very little space free, you will have more serious problems than your email not working.
It can be that the Deleted items.dbx is corrupt. Go to the Folder and delete this file (Close Outlook Express before u do this) than start oultok again and it will start working.
Although you seem to have plenty of free space, that does not consider the programs that are running in the backgroung. It sounds like you need to clear out some of those Startup Programs, thereby freeing up the comptrs resources.
for a list of startup programs. Then Go to Start, Run and type MSCONFIG choose Selective Startup and from the Startup Tab, uncheck as many programs as possible. Click Apply, OK and restart the Comptr.
Then, restart the comptr in the Safe Mode (keep tapping the F5 key as Windows boots) Go to Programs, Accessories, Systems Tools, and run the Disk Cleanup, Scan Disk (Standard Mode, Auto Fix Errors) and then the Disk Defragmenter. Restart the comptr.
That should clean things up and not only let you delete you email, but the comptr will run much better with less freeze ups.
