Hi web browser pros -

There is a site I visit often. Has about 60 photos on 1 page.

For some reason, after it downloads about 45 images or so, IE 5.5 says 'DONE' and the remaining last images just show the outline box with no pic inside.
It does not always stop on the same photo so I (suppose ?)
nothing is wrong with the web page itself.

Is there something like a 'time-out' setting in IE or some other setting that might cause this?

Thanks for any ideas. John

Does it happen on only that one site or on other sits as well?? If it's that site only then the problem might be from the server and not you.
What is the URL of that site so we can see if we get that error also... I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

What type of connection do you have? You may find some help by adjusting your RWIN settings and making sure windows scaling is turned on if you are using a fast connection. The problem is probably data loss on route from the server to you. There is a great free app that Cisco recommends for making these adjustments, it is called DrTCP. You can also change them in your registry, just it is more work LOL. Here is the link to this app if you want it:

There is also some interesting articles on the subject of making these adjustments at

GUJUMOdel - I don't get any error - IE apparently thinks it has downloaded everything because it says 'Done'. But the last few pics have the little X in the upper left corner. If I right-click on it and click 'Show picture', it then
downloads that pic.

BongWild - " What type of connection do you have?" .... a pretty slow one - a 38.4 dial-up at home.

Thanks for your ideas. John
