Nortel BCM 450 is working fine and suddenly getting "No free lines available" I checked for the alarm and below is the one I am getting.

Core Telephony - "Degraded Minute"short term alarm threshold has been exceeded on the DTM. The module is in a no-new-calls state.
Core Telephony - "Line Code Violation" short term alarm threshold has been exceeded on the DTM. The module is in a no-new-calls state.

Do I need to check with my carrier end or anything I need to check with the module?

You have a clocking issue as Curly has stated. When you reset the DTM, the PRI will work for some time (30 minutes sounds about right) until the clock drifts so much that the PRI cannot maintain sync and you will get the alarms you are getting. I'll bet your users are getting static and choppy conversations after about 15-20 minutes as well.

Your carrier is at fault. Don't let them tell you any different. I've lost track of how many times a carrier denied it was their fault only to be proven wrong. Tell them to send a tech with a BERT tester that knows how to use it.

Good Luck.

Ok I just wanted to verify thanks, both are the same...

323: | CAUSE:

Still I am facing issue.
Alarms are :
1.Core Telephony - "Degraded Minute"short term alarm threshold has been exceeded on the DTM. The module is in a no-new-calls state.
2.Core Telephony - "Line Code Violation" short term alarm threshold has been exceeded on the DTM. The module is in a no-new-calls state.

And every time I am resetting the DTI card manually by pulling out and put it back.

FYI the MBM's are not hot swappable....you should power down the BCM before removing or adding any MBM's or you may damaage the MBM or the BCM or both.

So far:
DTM MBM was replaced
DTM MBM dip switches were check
CSU changed to Primary
This is not doing too much since the problem started last October

You still (asked twice ablove) have not answered if you have switched the patch cable.

If your programming is correct are not going to insist to the carrier that you have done everything and lie your face off then I would maybe switch out the BFT, then the Power Supply then the Hard Drive then let us know how you made out.

You might want to think about calling in a BCM tech or at least calling a BCM vendor for support if your in some remote location.

Hi Curly

As you said so far I had done 1.DTM MBM was replaced , 2.DTM MBM dip switches were checked and 3.CSU changed to Primary.
Still I am facing the issue.
Could you please tell me what needs to be checked the patch cable? As you said from last october we are having issue. Before that no issues.

The patch cables goes from the DTM card (that you keep resetting) to the Carriers equipment.
Replaced it, maybe swap it with somebodies PC on site and see if it works or if the PC user now has issues.

Last week, I changed the patch cable and did PRI bertmeter testing for 20 hours and found no errors on the bert meter.Only for one day it worked with out any issues. Again today got the same issue "No Free Lines available". Then we did the hard card reset to make calls successfully.
