Hello. I have a new XP box that I am trying to add to the YYY domain. We are using LMHOST files to resolve our name to ip addresses. The XP box is on a different network than the YYY domain. The domain controller is NT4.

1. I am able to ping both the name and ip address from the XP box to the YYY domain controller and vice versa.

2. When I attempt to add the XP box to the YYY domain I get the error message: Domain Controller Not Found - Unable to Join Domain.

3. These two sites are connected via a router on each end and a leased 128k circuit.

Have any of you dealt with an issue like this?? Thanks.

Yes. I am also able to ping the domain by name as well. Thats why I dont understand why I cannot add the machine.
