NOt able to connect. ORA-01033

I am not able to connect to the database since 3 days.
When I try to login as system/manager, it give the error:
ORA-01033.

Any help?

use svrmgr and startup the database , then it will give you the excat error .

You can read the alert.log of your database to see what really happened that time.

Check your background_dump_dest parameter for the location of this log.

ORA-01033 ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress

Cause: An attempt was made to log on while Oracle is being started or shut down.

Action: Wait a few minutes. Then retry the operation.
