I have 2 "old school" SMDR's (NT8B95) and no documentation. Does anyone know about the wiring for this device?
The only connections are a single 4-pin modular jack and a DB-9 RS-232 port.
Does it need external power? Perhaps on pins 1&4 (I presume 2&3 connect to the KSU) on the modular connector.

I recall the SMDR 6 had an external power need, but for these I believe you only need to have a station port to connect to. The serial port can connect to a printer with a serial interface or to your PC serial port. The pinout is standard RS-232 comm. Once initially mated for about 5 minutes, you should be able to log into the SMDR and configure it via Feature 9 * 2.

There are a variety of options to configure for the reporting output.

I think only the first version had no PS, then the PS was hardwired on the next few releases.
