Hi,
Apologies if this post is in the wrong section - perhaps experienced users could point me in the right direction...
I have been having a problem with Norton SystemWorks Pro 2001 LiveUpdate. I have it installed on a Windows ME system. The version of LiveUpdate I am using is 1.80.19.0 which is the latest, I think.
The problem is that Automatic LiveUpdate has never worked. LiveUpdate works fine when I start it manually. When I open the SystemWorks control panel, click on Options, then Norton AntiVirus, then LiveUpdate on the left hand side brings up the control for switching on “Enable Automatic Live Update”. I tick that, and select “Apply updates without interrupting me”, then OK my way out of the program.
When I repeat the above process, the “Enable Automatic Live Update” box is unticked. It refuses to stay ticked, no matter what I do.
I don’t think it is an issue with my firewall. I heard somewhere that if I delete the entry for LiveUpdate in MS Scheduled Tasks, then re-enter it, that would cure it, but it doesn’t.
Has anyone got a cure for this, please?
Regards
CP
