norton antivirus scanner module fails to run

I was able to use the navw32.exe for about the last two days since it was clean-installed, but since yesterday I am not able to scan anything, including a file, folder, or the directory. For example, when I right-click the mouse & select "Scan with Norton Antivirus", the cursor flashes momentarily and disappears yet nothing happens. Nonetheless, I found out that whenever a scan is initiated, a scan file is being stored in the temp folder.

Since the last post, I found another twist that might bring some insight to this problem. Under safe-mode, the scanner module becomes visible when the scan is initiated. This would mean then that it's a compatibility issue, although I have no idea with which particular program. Any lead would be appreciated.

i have exactly the same problem, did it also in safe mode, even tried reinstallation, no success. don't know how to get rid of it.

i have recently installed ace utilities registry cleaner. it may be a coninsidence, but i started having full scan problems after i cleaned my registry. maybe accidently erased some file...

let me know if you had any success sorting this out.
