Hello,

I am trying to install Norton Anti Virus 2004 on a PC with Windows XP Home Edition. It installed successfully, but after I restarted the machine after installation I got this error:

ERROR: "Norton AntiVirus has encountered an internal program error. Uninstall and reinstall the Norton AntiVirus.

I have did that twice-uninstall then reinstall, then I went to the Symantec website and I followed the information that they have suggested to follow if this error had occured. And I am still getting the same error.

When I click on the icon for Norton on the desktop is starts to load, but nothing happens.

Does anyone have any advise of what else I could try? Also does anyone know what could be causing this type of error.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Have you tried searching the Registry? Most uninstallations leave registrey keys behind.

No, I didn't search the registry yet.

Thanks for your help,

Jennifer
