Does anyone know how to prevent or what really causes a line card to lose disconnect. I have had two customers, both with DSL on line connected to system, where the lines will work, but will not hang up. I do not like them having DSL on telephone system line, but sometimes you cannot tell customers, who are always customers if not always correct, not to do this. We have tried the line fuses. They seem to trip but damage already done.

Thanks in advance.

I had a DSL on my home system (Avaya Partner) and had no issues with disconnect. As long as the DSL line is filtered ahead of the control unit you should be OK. If everything is connected and programmed correctly I would call the DSL provider to fix the disconnect problem on their end.

I've had a DSL line running thru a CID card on my MICS 6.1 for years now and I've never had any trouble at all.

Of course the line is filtered thru a DSL dongle before it hits the ksu or any other analog devices.

I assume your problem is on a Norstar that's new enough to have disconnect suprvision?

Do you have that line programmed for disconnect supervision?

I agree with phonehed and exsmogger. There shouldn't be any problem adding a dsl line to the system as long as it's filtered. I'm not sure why, but sometimes, when the line ALSO goes through a stick (faxswitch), it won't work properly unless I put DOUBLE filters. (It took me hours to work that one out, but everything was buggy until I added a filter to the filter before the IN for the stick. )

Yes, line has disconnect supervision. Bell (AT&T) supplied no filters with the DSL. I will get some and install them. They did not send a single filter. Thanks for help.

I've had this same trouble. My telco tells me that disconnect supervision (they call it COD for "cut off on disconnect") cannot be transmitted over fibre. I had to get my telco to find spare copper pairs to my building. As soon as they took my lines off fibre and put them on copper the disconnect supervion worked properly.
