Is it hooked up with running scripts?
Do you have agents operating through it?
Can you determine from documentation what version it is?
Do you have access to the server, with passwords etc.
What role are you going to be doing - administrator/scriptwriting or just agent/supervisor needing to get at historic and real time reports?

I would think you need to install it and go on some courses. it can be easy to learn but it's not something you learn quickly.
