Nortel Speaker Volume Issues

Hey Folks,

I have a Nortel ICS system in my home. I have a pair of CID copper trunk modules. I have about 30 extensions, 2 door units, 2 CTI modules and an analog unit.

The system has been up and running for about 6 years with no problems.

I use the feature 86 to leave the music on so that I have music throughout the house.

Recently the volume of the telephones keeps resetting to the maximum. Also several of my phones are intermittently losing their function programming. I switch phones and the problem stays to a particular extension. But somedays the phones are 100% functional.


The Primary extension, randomly displays a system "CLEAR" function on the screen.


I was wondering what the possible issues are ? Software ? System Battery ?

This forum is for the options/CS 1000's. ICS, MICS, and CICS have a seperate NORSTAR forum. It's under the wiring closet same as the MERIDIAN
