I read older topics that were posted, very helpful.

When I power down the pedestal voicemail first. Then the two pedestals, do I flip the switch on the front of each processor shelf for cpu 0 and cpu 1 or is the pedestal switch enough?

Thanks.

I would leave the front switches alone and just flip the pedistal switches. These are like your main breakers for the column, where each power pack is the breaker for each cabinet. No need to do both.

Hope this helps,

Scott M.

Powering up, I'd use the parent-child order, starting with every switch down, then power up the parents, then the children

i work backwards from that, scott does the same as i do.. back of the switch.. to power up, i bring up all the shelves then the two cpu's together.. when she boots all the controllers and msdl's ect can request the download as soon as the units handshakes.. i've seen it done the other way and had to enable tds conf msdl fdl etc.. just my experience

John,

So your saying turn off the pedestal then the front power supply for each cpu?

Then on power up, hit the pedestal first then the two cpu's at the same time?

As far as commands go I just need to know the msdl commands? I would like to hit the switches and that's it....if there is a way to accomplish that.

by turning off all ped's from the back, then turn off the two cpu's power up all peds, then turn on 0 then 1.. a couple of seconds apart, all functions should come up clean.. i never recogmend a power cycle if it can be avoided. and i would never suggest anyone do one that didn't feel at ease if the switch does not come up at all
