Nortel PBX: managing outgoing CLIDs / stripping DN for DIDN

I am cleaning up our PBX and sorting out how outgoing CLIDs are handled. I want to use a single CLID entry as a default for the majority of the phones. This would use the set DN to finish the phone number being presented.

Our internal DNs are in the 3xxx range. Our DID must be presented as 586xxx and the PTT fills in the first 5 digits. I can get a call from DN 3456 to display correctly with a static entry as follows:

If I set HLCL="586" and DIDN=YES in the CLID entry, it will build the string as "5863456" for DN 3456. This causes the PTT to hiccup and revert to the default outgoing CLID. In the example above, I need a call from DN 3456 to present as "586456".

Can I configure the PBX to strip the leading "3" from my DN before appending it to the HLCL? For me, this would be the difference between one default CLID table entry and 200+ individual ones.

What release is your switch? I don't know if it will solve your pboblem, but numzone programming in rls 6 and higher may give you a way to manipulate this scenario. If you are older than that I think you're out of luck.

are you using a DMI to delete and insert on your outgoing calls?

only way to use DIDN=Yes and send HCLC 586 + 456 is if DN = 456
