Can Some one help me please? I am working on a Nortel MICS. I believe it is software release 4.1. The system has a PRI and DID. The system was hit by lightning and I have replaced the cabinet but still have all the cards. The system has been reprogrammed and I can send and receive calls on all DID’s that the phone numbers end in 7000’s the ext also have 7000 range. The problem is that I have some DID that are in the 8000 range and in the recd number it will not allow me to place anything but a 1 or a 7 for the starting digit. Any Ideas?

Received Numbers (RNs) cannot conflict with a bunch of other numbers. Have a look at the following:
[ul]
[li]Existing RNs: Lines > [Target Lines] > Trunk/Line Data > Received Number[/li]
[li]Destination codes: Services > Routing Service > Destination Codes > [Destination Codes][/li]
[li]Line pool access codes: System Programming > Access Codes > Line Pool Codes > [Line Pools][/li]
[li]Auto DN: System Programming > Access Codes > Auto DN[/li]
[li]DISA DN: System Programming > Access Codes > DISA DN[/li]
[/ul]

Line pool access codes are the most likely to cause the behaviour you are describing, i.e. preventing you from entering a RN that begins with 8. You should start there.

Also check the park prefix.

Thanks for all the help. I found the issue under services>routing services>dest codes I had any key by itself setup for a destination weird? It is nice to have a community like this for quick simple questions.

If you have reprogrammed the system without initializing it first (using the Startup programming), it might explain why there are some leftovers from the old programming.

Remote callers cannot pick up parked calls. So, the park prefix can be the same as the first digit of a received number.
