We have a school with M7310 telephones in each room. They would like to lock the telephone so the students cannot use them. The teachers would like a code to unlock the telephone to make calls.
Feature 936 is supposed to be the set lock code but we get inactive feature.
Is this possible?

No such feature code.

The only thing you can do is set a class of service to unlock out bound calling

Set lock is configuration feature that limits what features can be used on the phone.

Once you build a COS you need to use Feature 68.
Call in a tech to program.

When M7000/T7000 series Nortel phones are used with an Avaya IP Office system, you can use
F936 - Station Lock
F937 - Station Unlock

These features are not available on Norstar or BCM. On these switches, feature codes from F900 to F999 are application features - Nortel or 3rd party applications could register as the server for features from this range and provide application specific services that way. I don't remember any application that would use F936 or F937.
