i was given the task to delete the hardware off of 138 phones but due to the fact that we have another company comming in behind us they was to save the software and delete the hardware as for data security. does any one know the process to do this >?

The hardware is the phones and the system.

The software is the programming.

The data might be the voice mail messages.

There is no personal or company information in the phone programming.

All you own is the hardware. If you want to give it to someone, you may.

The software is is licensed for your use, but you do not own it, nor is there any information to worry about.

Unless you take the voice mail system with you, the data can be recovered by someone.

If you want to delete the data, take the voice mail system, erase the Speed Call Lists and OUT the LD95 Calling Party Name Display.

That's my opinion

Is there a code for the phones that we could use to delete all of the information in the system? and if so how would i go about doing this? the software must stay on the system but all of the case sensitive info on the option 11 c must go.the phones are all dummy phones no information stays on them

What information do you want to delete? Can you please rephrase in other words.

Personally, I would just tell everyone you deleted all the secret information. There isn't anyone that can prove you didn't. I do not see anything to delete other than voice mail.

we want to set the phone back to default settings. Erasing the voicemail the call settings etc. How would i go about setting the option back to default?

The default settings are "no phones exist".

Delete all the voice mailboxes.

There is not a button that does all of this. You have to know how to log into the systems.

i know alsmost nothing of these phone systems would there be a way you could do a step by step walk thru of how to delete the voicemails. we have a user name and login so after that step what happens?

so in conclusion if i delete the voice mails and the phones go back to default setting there will be no more customer data left on the phones?

If you delete the voice mailboxes, there will be no messages or employee names.

If you go to LD95 and do REQ OUT; TYPE NAME; and then at DN, type ALL - that will remove all employee names from the phones.

That is all of the personal information that exists.

Also do a few saves (LD 43, then EDD a few times) when you've done the wipes.

You may also want to remove/blank any PCMCIA flash cards installed in the faceplate of the SSC (beside the power supply in the main cabinet - should be marked SSC or NTDK20xx) as archived data can be stored on those too.

Remove them? is there any way to wipe out the flash drives and re install them? and i was told those might have firmware data and operation systems in them. also there is possibly a 4 gig hard drive in this system how would i go about making the completely secured so there is no data left on these phones except for the software?

The PCMCIA cards are similar to the ones used on laptops, hit the eject button beside the card and they'll pop out.

Formatting them on a windows PC sometimes gives problems - you can just remove and dispose of them, not needed for operation.

To remove all data (to US DOD standard or similar) from the switch you'd need to do a secure wipe on the HDD (what card is that on?) and then install brand new flash daughterboards (they're a PCB that sit onto the main NTDK20 SSC PCB) or do a factory based test. Then reload all s/w and keycodes.

If you need to go this far it's time to ring a partner...

Wait. Here is the personal information again:

Mail Messages
Name Display

How we got on the topic of wiping and re-installing is odd. It is not like leaving a PC behind. It is like leaving an appliance in the kitchen for the next tenant.

Do not wipe anything. Leave the PCMCIA. Leave the install media. Leave the phones programmed as they are. OUT the Names. Do not format anything or the system will stop working forever.
