Hello,

I was wondering if by any chance anyone would know where to get the most cost effective Nortel upgrade items. I am specifically looking for the best price on the Release 5.5 as I am in need to upgrade my option 81c switch this year. It would be part number NTE955MX. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

I would contact your vendor, pricing is different from vendor to vendor,
The biggest pricing difference will depend on your current Rel and hardware.

best bet... check with as many large vendors as you can in your area.. the best price is not a bargin if the upgrade crashes and the company on site does not have the resources to recover..

what rls are you now? couple of things i had to do when i went from 3 to 5.. one was replacing all the msdl daughter boards another was replacing all the old style t1 cards with dual pri cards.. along with replacing clocks and putting all my tty's on paddle boards.. all told we spent over a quarter of a million..

Be careful of going cheap. This usually means that something was left off the quote to get the price down. Like a CD and Tape drive on a CallPilot. They could decide to not replace the core power supplies and they will work for a time then you will have all sorts of problems.

Like John says, there are alot of issues that can cause the cost to rise, like card vintages.
