I have a Nortel Meridian Option 61 PBX. I have two fax machines and two fax DIDs. The fax DIDs are 7839 & 7838. I am trying to set it up so when 7839 is busy receiving a fax and someone calls into 7839, it forwards the call to 7838 instead of sounding a "Busy signal". This is so we do not lose any calls because of one fax machine getting more calls than the other one.

Please help me,

Hello
you can setup HUNT to do this
you will need the TN's of the 2 set's

first 7838 (when busy will HUNT to 7839)

ld 10
req=chg
type=500
tn x x x x
echg=yes
item hunt 7839
iten <cr>
req=end

2nd 7839 (when busy will HUNT to 7838)

ld 10
req=chg
type=500
tn x x x x
item hunt 7838
item <cr>
req=end

Try with this.

I set ext. 7838 to hunt 7839, and 7839 to hunt to 7838. I then did a test to see if it works or not. I called 7838 and the fax machine picked up, which then makes it busy. I then called 7839 from another phone and got "Destination Busy - Activate Ring Again?". It doesn't seem to be Hunting correctly. I also set
FNA for both extensions.

riptech is right,, sorry i forgot that little detail... Colin

It works, it works, it works. Thanks a bunch :*).
