Hello,

I've been handed a task to connect an Option 11c mini to CUCM 12.5. The mini has an SSC controller, line card and a TMDI card. I'm not sure of the software other than its either 24 or 25. I'm in way over my head and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I've spent hours searching online and tried finding a Nortel tech that still remembers the system to no avail

Thank you for any help you can provide.
Brad

You will need to find out what licenses the Option 11c has and the software level etc.

The chances are that it's old and you won't have any networking packages. I'm guessing that an IP link will be out of the question and does the Cisco support any ISDN circuits and does the Option 11c have any spare slots etc as it might need a ISDN card.

Even then, it might not work as requested. You might end up having to ditch the 11c if it's old and just replace it.

Thank you. It is old - the last software update was in 2004 and we cant find parts anymore. Do you have a recommendation for a replacement? This is for a lab environment meant to simulate receiving 911 calls into a dispatch center using CUCM. Many of our locations still use Nortel switches. We just need something small (3-4 sets) that we can push a call from - ideally 911.

There should be plenty of parts available and I know that you can get keycode upgrades via a chap I know. You really need to find out what cards you have.

You should log in and go to LD 22
Use commands such as

REQ: ISS
REQ: SLT
REQ: TID
REQ: PRT
TYPE CFN
Post a photo of the cabinet as well please.

Release 4.50w was a good issue. I'm guessing that your PRI is currently in use?.

You have a spare slot to install another PRI, but you need to find out if the Cisco will also support one.

You have 16 IP sets in the licence but no 32 port Media card and no IP trunks are available.

I think your options are limited?.

No, the PRI is available; if it doesnt appear that way its because I messed around with it. Is H.323 an option across a tie trunk? I'm pretty sure the CEQU is not set right for the PRI. I cannot bring up the TMDI card - it doesnt even list it with a STAT command in LD 96.

Would you happen to know what the DLOP would be with the card in slot 3? I dont understand what I need to enter at the DLOP prompt in LD 17, CHG CEQU.

You have no IP trunk options the H323 and SIP Access Ports are at 0, post up the CEQU should be able to get the PRI up.

Guess you have more bits as the site is licenced for 160 digital, 32 analogue and has an OTM 1.1, Mail 13.14, and a Callpilot 201i Rls 4.0 licence (must have been an upgrade on the mail to CP).

How did you manage to get 2 PRI on same loop and loop 0 at that? Its been a long time since I did a small none IP system and never did one on CS1000 only Rls 25 and prior but an example from one of my 7.6 1000E's with a mixture of D100 and NI2 would be:

DLOP NUM DCH FRM TMDI LCMT YALM T1TE TRSH MG_CARD
PRI 100 24 ESF NO B8S FDL - 00 004 0 02
101 24 ESF NO B8S FDL - 00 004 0 03
102 24 ESF NO B8S FDL - 00 008 0 01
103 24 ESF NO B8S FDL - 00 008 0 02
104 24 ESF YES B8S FDL 0 00 016 0 02
105 24 ESF YES B8S FDL 0 00 016 0 03
106 24 ESF YES B8S FDL 0 00 020 0 02
107 24 ESF YES B8S FDL 0 00 020 0 03

This is because in the 1000E the PRI Loop is just a number you assign (cant clash with other loops but all the same put them where you want, I decided to run them from 100 up) needless to say in a small system you do not have the MG card bit on the end to tie it to hardware. In a small system it has to be the card number that you use for the Loop, if that is the first gateway it would be card 3 so guessing it should look something like.

DLOP NUM DCH FRM TMDI LCMT YALM T1TE TRSH
PRI 03 24 ESF YES B8S FDL 0 00

Thank you. I was able to set a loop for 03 24. My issue was that the DDB was not setup correctly. This allowed me to set the DLOP and for the system to recognize the card in slot 3. I went through the remaining steps of creating a D channel, route and trunk. Everything seems to be enabled but my issue is that the TMDI card does not have a clock controller. At first I thought I had a connectivity issue, but I created a loopback and the same red and yellow light remains on the TMDI in slot 3.

Can you confirm that the TMDI needs a clock controller? I think I know the answer, it just blows that I have 3 or 4 TMDI cards laying around and none of them have the daughterboard.

The TMDI card does in fact have to have a clock controller
