Having a hard time understanding what firmware a few of my m3904 phones are on. I've gone into load 32 and idu'd the TN's in question and I get release code 2 on one and 4 on another. I've also done the FWVU followed by the TN and got firmware version 89 on one and 92 on another. What firmware release are my phones on, and why couldn't Nortel just make things easier like they are on the Avaya Definity switches?

Nortel isn't that hard, you just need to RTFM and that's hard because Nortel can do so much [2thumbsup]

You are giving the answers... 1 is on version 89 and the other is on 92... Don't know why that is so hard [bigcheeks]

If Bill Gates had a nickel for every time Windows crashed... Oh wait, he does...

You probably already have them... but some of the more frequently used firmware commands:

LD 32 ** For all 3900 series phones **
FSUM show firmware versions on the PBX, and phone counts using them
FWVU TN show firmware version for a specific phone/TN
FDLU TN load firmware from PBX to the phone (can upgrade or downgrade)
FDLF TN if load fails or times out, use this to force a firmware reload

So Nortel doesn't go by version 2, 3, 4, etc? When I look on Avaya's site I find 3900 series downloads I find release 9.0, 9.2, 9.3, so how does that work out if my phones are supposedly on version 89 and 92? Must be their backward Canadian logic, eh?

No just need some common sense... 9.2 = 92.

Another useful command in LD 32 is FSUM ALL. This will neatly list all of the active sets and their associated firmware versions as determined from settings made in LD 97. That load also controls scheduled updates, but the settings to get a list are very similar.

So if you want to get a firmware list for all of your 3903 sets:
LD 97
REQ chg
TYPE fdl
FDTP 3903
<enter> thru the reset of the prompts

LD 32
.fsum all
TYPE:3903 CUST:00 PDN:3277 TN:004 1 10 08 FW:091
TYPE:3903 CUST:00 PDN:3421 TN:008 0 05 02 FW:090
...

Now the 92 = 9.2 makes sense, but it just seems like it'd save those of us who aren't Nortel guru's a little time and hassle and just add a period between the two numbers in the PBX. Thanks for the answers, I appreciate the help.
