Hi people

I set one of our new M3905 phones up in a call centre a few months back and it was working fine then. Today someone has tried to use it but the in-calls button (key 0 ) just won't work.
I've tried removing they key 0 setup and then adding it again.
I've tried simply re-enabling the phone set to see if that would jump start it
And i've also tried another M3905 in case the set had just died a little. It hadn't.
I have a further 16 of these sets to roll out in the near future, but if they're going to do stuff like this then i fear for the amount of helpdesk calls i will get!
Any help you can give me is very much appreciated.
Thanks
Tim

Post the TNB of the set. (removing key 0 then adding it back is not a good idea)

Thanks for the swift replies people!

bigindian65 - By 'Post the TNB' (im new to phone systems) do you mean just deleting and then adding the set again? I did that but it still doesn't work?

sporty2 - See my initial post for the issues with the set. ;)

cheers
Tim

BigIndian means printing your TNB configuration of telephone, then copy and paste it on this posting, so we can see your telephone programming. It helps solving the issue without guessing.

Cheers jamie2, i can do posting for help on forums (almost all im good at ;)

I prt'd the TNB and got all of this...

Oooohhhh i'm getting closer...

Just worked out why key 0 won't put the set in calls, i think.
I noticed on Optivity that there is already a key 0 for in calls assigned at the very bottom right of the M3905.
Thing is, it's greyed out and i can't assign it an ACD pos ID because of this.
Anyone know why the M3905 key for in calls is greyed out? I'm scouring the manuals and the web but so far found nowt.

Garrrgh! :D
Tim

Those two key zeros are tied together, bottom most right key is 0 and so is bottom right soft key. Could be why it is gray, don't know, I only use CLI. ACD queue 7004 - does it have a high enough MAXP?

Thanks BigIndian65, and sorry - i don't know what you mean by MAXP?
Those key 0's must be tied though as I only set in calls for the soft key before, and it worked perfectley back then (months ago)!

In LD 23 PRT ACD 7004 around the begining is MAXP, number of agents maximum. As you add agents & queues get logged into and out of, MAXP could be reached. Whatever it is chg it by 50 more, will not hurt anything, can do it on the fly with no ill effect. When you get to MAXP put in the new number, then enter thru every other prompt until it re-enters you into LD 23. Then try to log into the set again, pay attention to what comes up on the display if it does not work, so you can let us know.

MAXP has been increased from 110 to 160. The set says it's logged out but still key 0 won't let me log in? I don't remember if it said logged out before though so can't say whether it's any better.
Glad its almost the weekend. :)

Hi

Do you have a headset attached to the 3905 because i know if we dont or there is a problem with the headset you cannot login to phone.

just a thought

Trevor

Compare against a working phone.

Program on Key 8 MSB and on Key 9 NRD. The MSB will allow you to log the phone on and off.

I think it is greyed out in OTM because the phone is acquired by something. Probably Symposium. Dont change the phone while it is acquired.

Hope this helps.

John

Try to add the following keys to the set:
08 MSB
09 NRD

Okay,
2 Things, easy one first, then re-post. Even if current:

LD 32

.FDLF 4 0 9 7

wait for completion (10-15 min) then try to log in once again.

Trevor

Whoah a sudden flood of help. Many many thanks to you all!

Trevatwork - yep theres a headset plugged in. Learnt about that after scratching my head for hours trying to workout why the 2216s wouldn't work after my "upgrade". Thanks for your 3905 setup - i'll check mine against it.

janaya & Utreg - I'll try sorting keys 8 and 9, thanks. And yes the phone is acquired in symposium. I learnt not to mess with changing phones while acquired at the same time as i learnt not to mess with our symposium expert!

bigindian65 - Thanks again. I've done the .FDLF (tn) bit. What does the .FDLF do? Did i need the . ?

Once i've succesfully got this first M3905 set working i'll know exactly what to do with the other 16. And it won't involve a sledghammer anymore hopefully.

No you do not need the ., that is what you get once in 32, for sure need MSB & NRD on 8 & 9!

Thats what i thought, but i didn't get a .
I get > going into LD 32. Same thng i guess.

Anyhoo MSB & NRD are setup, FDLF has been done, but still the set won't behave!

I'm off home for the weekend now and i'll pick this up Monday.
Thanks for all your help and have a good weekend.

Hi all

Anyone got any other ideas about whats wrong with my problem M3905 set? I still just cant get it to go in-calls ever. I'm thinking about just outing the set and starting again, but i've done that once and no joy.
thanks
Tim
