Hello:

I am on Windows 2000 and use Verizon for DSL. Ever since
I've installed it, I cant Hibernate or Standby my Thinkpad. The message goes:
System Hibernation Failed

The device driver for 'Nortel IPSECSHM Adapter' device is preventing the machine from entering hibernation. Please close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, you may need to update this driver.

Do you have any clue as to what I should do ?

We've had the problem at our company. The solution was to disable the WinPoet adapter when it was not needed. That was the only solution we were able to come up with.

Hi bs13690:

Thanks for the heads up. Glad to know I am not alone in the woods !!

Canyou tell me how to disable the WinPoet adapter ??

Warning - If you upgrade to Nortel 4.6 and have winpoet installed on a Windows 2000 machine - it will crash and it does not work! Stick with 4.15 or lower. Trust Me.
