Greetings ~

We have run out of IP User licenses on our cs1000e - we have 379 left on our cs1000b - we're running on rls 4.5

Can we have some of these licenses moved over the cs1000e? Can we add more licenses to the PBX without being forced to upgrade?

Thanks,

mrclean613

What you're asking for used to be available when Nortel was in business. Not sure if license sharing is currently available now, now that Avaya took over. You may need to check with your vendor and/or the former Nortel Order Management @ 800-4nortel, option 4 or whatever OM option is.

There was a fee associated with it and some restriction were imposed - like no EOL or MD releases were allowed.

Greetings ~

Is there an IP worksheet for the Nortel Sig Server, NRS, and Backup NRS type configurations?

We're in a situation where the Nortel system was installed prior to me coming on-board - we're looking to add additional backup NRS, sig server ECT...

The challenges I have is incomplete prior documentation on IP addresses - MAC addresses - host name - to ensure these servers are representation on our network

Our network team is inquiring how these server’s resolve? Do they use DHCP, DNS, Static IP addressing?

Thanks,

MrClean,

You can still move licenses between systems, but the donor system needs to be at the same software level as the receiving system.

Your systems must be in a licensing pool, which is created by Avaya(N) with the help of your vendor.

You cannot move licences from a 1000B to a CS1K. The licneces on the B are temporary licences and will only work for a ma of 90 days on a connection failure to the CS1K.
