Hi

I have a 25 nortel ERS 4550s installed in a site. One of the switch loses its tagged port config after a restart.rest all switches are fine.Do anyone know what whould be the reason. Will a software upgrade help if so which firmware should i upgrade to?Is it that the auto save feature is not working?

Check the status of the autosave configuration (from the CLI, show autosave). If it isn't enabled, you can go into configure mode and enter 'autosave enable'.

When in doubt, the command 'copy config nvram' will take the running config and save it to memory.

If you have autosave enabled, and issue the 'copy config nvram' command and the changes are still being lost, I would suspect that you might have some sort of flash memory issue on that device.

The 4500 supports 2 config blocks. Try changing to the other block to rule out memory issue.

show nvram block - To show active block

copy config nvram block <1-2> name <block_name> - Copy running config to a specific block

copy nvram config block <1-2> - This will change default to what you select and reset the switch.

guys i tried copying to nvram also copy to nvram block 2 an error comes saying "copy nvram failed".I feel the flash is corrupted..???
