Nortel Door Bell/Intercom

Does Nortel provide any kind of door bell or anything similar? We need to put a boor bell or kind of system where by when someone presses a button it shoud ring on a particular extension?

We are using BCM400 running on 3.7

biv343, Thank for the quick response, this is exactly what i was looking for.

Actually our requirements was to talk to the visitor before receptionist opens the door. I also found "Nortel BCM Door Opening Controller - NT8B79FE". But I dont know how to intergrate these components in our existing system. We are using BCM400 with 3.7 and Door Controll system is from RFLOGICS.

I will try to find if there is any documentation available online. If anyone of you already know please put me in the right direction.

What would happen is the person presses the button, that calls a phone, or group of phones. Someone picks up and begins talking to the person at the door. If you have the door opening controller, you press a button (6 I believe) and that triggers a contact closure which can tie into the door lock.

You mean to say : The receptionist will press the button on the phone and it will open the door, right?

If yes, then the door controller module will be connected to the BCM as well the door controller unit, correct?

You are correct. It would be bad to have the person at the door press a button to open the door. That would pose quite a security risk.

The door opening controller connects to the doorphone itself, not to the BCM.
